To accomplish Training/Research and Consultancy activities, WALMI has developed requisite infrastructures such as:
There are 2 lecture halls each with a capacity to accommodate 80 farmers and 2 lecture halls each to accommodate 40 officers.
There is an Auditorium (A/C) with modern audio-visual equipments and P.A. System with a seating capacity of 250 persons.
An A/C conference hall (40 seated), well equipped with A/V teaching aids is there in the Institute for organizing conferences, workshops and trainings of senior level officers.
Yoga classes are included in the orientation training programme for newly recruited Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers. For practical demonstration, one yoga hall has been earmarked.
The Institute has a Central Library to accommodate 60 readers. It has more than 3000 Text Books, Journals, Training modules and other audio visuals teaching aids and is located in the center of the Institute.
To take up model study on different types of spillway and flow control structures with hands-on-practice for installation of measuring devices and their use, one indoor hydraulic laboratory has been developed.
Soil Testing Laboratory was primarily developed for practical demonstration of soil and water testing for agricultural purpose. However, this facility is now made open to the farmers for testing their soil and water samples.
The E-Governance Cell is involved with checking & verification of pay bill,checking & verification of recoveries,uploading of EPF/ salary payment, Income Tax & preparation of Form-16, checking & verification along with maintenance of Data base of all employees, Day today operation of e-mail & printing of color certificate for trainees of WALMI.
There are a number of vehicles including two buses(30 seated each) for conducting field trips for the trainees.
Telephone, FAX and internet facilities are available for faster communication.
There are two nos. of hostels(Both bachelor & married) and 14 āCā-type quarters converted into hostel to accommodate 180 nos. of trainees including the office bearers of Pani Panchayat during the training period with all the facilities for lodging and boarding.
There is one experimental farm within the Institute to conduct field experiments and demonstrations on improvement of water use efficiency in different crops and development of water saving technology. Such technologies are demonstrated to the farmers, office bearers of Pani Panchayats and trainee officers in the Institute farm.
There are 170 residential quarters for different categories of WALMI staff starting from class-IV to senior class-I officers.
